Week 4 Oct 12Student Question: Put yourself in the author's shoes--Why do you think he/she wrote this book. I think the main reason why the author wrote this book was to show that working hard, taking risks and learning from your mistakes will make you successful and that's all in the matter of perspiration than inspiration. The author also shows that it's okay to make mistakes, no matter how bad it is, you just need to learn from them. His dad's car- Angelo worked with his dad for a long time with making cars, and Angelo has a huge interest in them. An under-baked pastry - When things weren't looking good for his dad's career, Angelo bought an under-baked pastry which gave his dad an idea. Them Angelo went to work with his dad to make a new car. When working, Angelo never forgot about the pastry. A workshop-Angelo was always wanting to come up with new ideas in his dad's workshop and loved it. Week 2 Sept 25Student Question: How does this chapter remind you of something else? For example: something you have read before, somewhere you have visited, someone you know? This book reminds me of the time when i went to a museum. The museum had alot of automobiles from the early 20th century, since this book takes place in the 30s an 40s. Week 1 Sept, 21Student Question: Discuss a funny or ironic part of the story was in your book.
What I found funny and ironic in this book was when a boy named Angelo and his dad went to a motor show to, hoping to have a breakthrough like they did before with and new car model. Things weren't looking good for their car when suddenly, Angelo had an idea. I expected Angelo to make his car gain attention just by showing off its abilities. But whats ironic was when Angelo put the car into drive and created a disaster in the show when i expected the opposite.
