Week 4 Oct 12Student Question: Put yourself in the author's shoes--Why do you think he/she wrote this book. I think the main reason why the author wrote this book was to show that working hard, taking risks and learning from your mistakes will make you successful and that's all in the matter of perspiration than inspiration. The author also shows that it's okay to make mistakes, no matter how bad it is, you just need to learn from them. Week 3 Oct 2Student Question: If your main character were deserted on a desert island, what 3 personal objects would they want with them and why? If Angelo was on a deserted island, He would want.... His dad's car- Angelo worked with his dad for a long time with making cars, and Angelo has a huge interest in them. An under-baked pastry - When things weren't looking good for his dad's career, Angelo bought an under-baked pastry which gave his dad an idea. Them Angelo went to work with his dad to make a new car. When working, Angelo never forgot about the pastry. A workshop-Angelo was always wanting to come up with new ideas in his dad's workshop and loved it. Week 2 Sept 25Student Question: How does this chapter remind you of something else? For example: something you have read before, somewhere you have visited, someone you know? This book reminds me of the time when i went to a museum. The museum had alot of automobiles from the early 20th century, since this book takes place in the 30s an 40s. Week 1 Sept, 21Student Question: Discuss a funny or ironic part of the story was in your book.
What I found funny and ironic in this book was when a boy named Angelo and his dad went to a motor show to, hoping to have a breakthrough like they did before with and new car model. Things weren't looking good for their car when suddenly, Angelo had an idea. I expected Angelo to make his car gain attention just by showing off its abilities. But whats ironic was when Angelo put the car into drive and created a disaster in the show when i expected the opposite.

Week 3, Sept 12Student Question: What about this book amazed, interested or stood out from other books? This book amazed me ever since I started reading Action/fantasy books, i always liked reading them. I liked the idea of the characters being animals instead of humans.I also like the sub plots involving most of the characters/sub characters and how they come together during the end. This book revolves around adventure and character development and is a unique read.
What is the setting of your book (time and place)? How would the story change if you changed the setting. Give me at least one specific example. My book takes place in a in the wood, called "Mossflower" woods and is set in time where technology wasn't a thing yet. If i were to change the setting to be more modern, such as taking place where they were houses, weapons and a government, and since the main characters are in a war, they would be guns, bombs, planes, warships, etc, Week 1, Sept 1If your main character were deserted on a desert island, what 3 personal objects would they want with them and why?
If Martin (the main character) was on a deserted island, he would want- His dad's sword- Martin and his dad used to fight sea rats in order to defend their territory. Martin would also want his sword because it's the only thing he remembers from his dad. A sling- Martin had a friend called Gonff. Gonff always had a sling with him and had excellent accuracy with it. This is so Martin would remember him. A Sapling- After his dad died, Martin moved to a forest called Mossflower. Mossflower is where he spent almost his entire life there, and a sampling would remember where he used to live. |
